Trailer Mechanic

Overview

We are looking for an experienced Trailer Mechanic to join our client’s team in Scarborough. We are excited to provide this opportunity to a qualified candidate. If you have similar experience and are interested in this position, we want to hear from you.​

Responsible For

• Perform repairs and preventive maintenance services.
• Perform inspection, diagnosis and repair of electrical, hydraulic, suspension brake and air systems on vehicles and equipment.
• Utilize vehicle computer electronics systems to interpret failure modes to initiate and assign repairs.
• Estimate time and material costs on vehicle repairs.
• Perform service calls for emergency breakdowns.
• Conduct safety checks on all vehicles and equipment.
• Complete required paperwork utilizing fleet maintenance software program associated with repairing vehicles, documenting part usage and accounting for repair times.
• Maintain a clean and safe work area in compliance with corporate / OHSA standards
• Perform all work in accordance with established safety procedures
• Working alongside apprentices to provide them with assistance and guidance
• Other duties as assigned

Other Benefits

Specific Skills

• 3-5 Years of experience servicing trailers, or related mechanical/electrical experience is preferred
• Commercial vehicle inspection license preferred.
• Must have a clean drivers abstract.
• Use of required personal protective equipment
• Operation and use of necessary tools, machinery, or equipment
• Extended periods of standing, and other physically demanding conditions
• Lifting, moving, or manipulating objects up to 50 kilograms
