Overview
We are looking for an experienced Trailer Mechanic to join our client’s team in Scarborough. We are excited to provide this opportunity to a qualified candidate. If you have similar experience and are interested in this position, we want to hear from you.
Responsible For
- Perform repairs and preventive maintenance services.
- Perform inspection, diagnosis and repair of electrical, hydraulic, suspension brake and air systems on vehicles and equipment.
- Utilize vehicle computer electronics systems to interpret failure modes to initiate and assign repairs.
- Estimate time and material costs on vehicle repairs.
- Perform service calls for emergency breakdowns.
- Conduct safety checks on all vehicles and equipment.
- Complete required paperwork utilizing fleet maintenance software program associated with repairing vehicles, documenting part usage and accounting for repair times.
- Maintain a clean and safe work area in compliance with corporate / OHSA standards
- Perform all work in accordance with established safety procedures
- Working alongside apprentices to provide them with assistance and guidance
- Other duties as assigned

Specific Skills
Technical Skills:
- 3-5 Years of experience servicing trailers, or related mechanical/electrical experience is preferred
- Commercial vehicle inspection license preferred.
- Must have a clean drivers abstract.
- Use of required personal protective equipment
- Operation and use of necessary tools, machinery, or equipment
- Extended periods of standing, and other physically demanding conditions
- Lifting, moving, or manipulating objects up to 50 kilograms
